  5. fthnature Says:

There were 600,000,000 in 1997 (the latest I could find info for) for all of the Earth and the number of cars is expected to double by 2030. That’s a lot of cars.

    For US (2003) we have:
“There are 107 million U.S. households, each with an average of 1.9 cars, trucks or sport utility vehicles and 1.8 drivers, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported. That equals 204 million vehicles and 191 million drivers.”

  6. wirelessexperts5 Says:

According to the gentleman I spoke with at the U.S. Department of Transpotation Statistical Records Office there are approximately 62 million registered vehicles in the U.S. at the current time and appox. 6.4 million unregistered functioning vechicles. Roughly 32% of those two numbers combined would account for Semi-Trucks, construction, heavy machinery vehicles.

  7. mrjeffy321 Says:

There are about 237 million registered vehicles in the United States according to one of the US Department of Transportation’s statistics.
